Kerry's Veep Pick

I've shown my stunning lack of political prediction powers in the past. Here's another flyer.

Here's what we know of Kerry's VP pick process, reportedly to be announced tomorrow:

1) Kerry will fly to Indianapolis tomorrow, after announcing his pick.
2) The VP nominee's political director used to work for Evan Bayh, the Senator from Indiana.
3) The VP nominee's press team includes the former press secretary for Evan Bayh.

Indiana never goes for the Democrats, and even with Bayh on the ticket I doubt it will, although presumably it will go Republican by a smaller margin than usual. Conceivably, this could help in other midwest states, though. He's not a bad choice.

Science Fiction To His Coy Mistress

17th century poet Andrew Marvell's oft-anthologized poem To His Coy Mistress inspired the titles of at least three 20th century speculative fiction works: Joe Haldeman's World Enough, and Time, Ursula Le Guin's Vaster Than Empires, and More Slow, and Peter S. Beagle's A Fine and Private Place.
